Fraser Suites, Queens Gate review

London

Price

Not cheap! I ended up in a ‘studio apartment’ rather than a one bedroom as it was the cheaper option. But as I wanted an apartment for a week in a good location, I had to compromise on this criteria for selecting accommodation. London is expensive and along with a good location, the apartment came with quality fixtures so it got my booking. Staying in London for a week, an apartment was the way to go as it meant not eating out for every meal, having breakfast in Pjs while watching breakfast TV! (It’s the little things) Plus it gives more of a “I live in London” feel to your London experience.

Location

Excellent location, a few minutes walking distance to the Gloucester Rd Tube station. On Cromwall Rd and an easy stroll to the Natural History Museum and the V & A. In a different direction, walking distance to Kensington Palace and gardens. Gloucester Road has a variety of cafes, fast food places, a Tesco express, next to the station there is a Waitrose supermarket. All very convenient for a self catering apartment. (Importantly Gloucester Rd station is serviced by 3 different Tube lines, on the weekends one line in the whole system is always closed due to upgrading!! You need options, so one of my helpful hints is to make sure your local Tube station is on more than one line.)

Facilities

The apartment had a kitchen, the hotel had a laundry room, which was free to use. There was also a gym (didn’t go anywhere near it, but some people might find that a plus!), it had an outdoor seating area, a bar and a business centre, with books you could borrow. (I also donated a read paperback, thought it was great that I could borrow something to read while I was there) The rooms all had free wifi, safe in room was large enough to fit a Laptop. Old building but had a lift to each floor. (Not something always found in London!)

Outdoor area, there was a bar inside where the French windows are.

Optional Extras

Having the laundry was great, did a load of washing before I left! Loved the business room with the books to borrow. The building is old but upgraded so the rooms are very modern. On a busy road but double glazing kept the noise down. The bathroom toiletries were L’Occitane which were nice to use.

Enjoyed my stay at this hotel and would stay there again.
