Accomodation in the Adelaide Hills
Esto House
Esto House can be found in the Piccadilly Valley in the Adelaide Hills. The former postwar market gardener's cottage has been beautifully renovated. It makes for a terrific place to stay for anyone wanting to spend time in the Adelaide Hills.
Price
There is a minimum 2 night stay when booking the house. The price includes the provisions that are left for breakfast. The owner greets you upon arrival with the keys and you leave the keys inside the house when you leave.
Location
The house is just outside Crafers in the Adelaide Hills, the Mt. Lofty Botanic Gardens are just behind the property. The house is surrounded by vineyards, it's off the main road and so a car is a must. There's plenty of parking.
Looking out into the vines of the Deanery Vineyard
Facilities
I've stayed in quite a few different holiday apartments and houses and this would easily be the best equipped house that I've stayed in. I was impressed by the level of attention to what guests would need. The lounge had a guitar if anyone was musical, as well as a variety of books. There was a basket of wood for the wood fire. (The house also had reverse cycle heating and air-conditioning in the main living area and each of the bedrooms.)
The lounge area
The dining room with double doors out into the garden
Kitchen and door leading out to barbecue area
The kitchen had a variety of appliances, breads, egg, fruit, yoghurt, juice, cereals and milk left for breakfast. Different types of coffees and teas, including a teapot.
Kitchen view, there is a dishwasher under the sink
Master bedroom
The window in all the rooms were new and double glazed, something that is appreciated in the Adelaide Hills during the cooler months!
Entrance to main bedroom, it has a large wardrobe on the left with robes and practical things like an ironing board.
Bathroom with heating, including heated towel rack. (All important in winter!)
The second bedroom, the twin beds can be joined to make a queen sized bed.
Optional Extras
Outdoor barbecue area
The condiments cupboard
Bathroom items, not just basic tissues and spare toilet paper, there's also cotton tips and cotton makeup removal pads.
Summary
Wonderful place to stay and perfect for a base to explore the Adelaide Hills. The house is big enough for a few friends to share, although parties are not allowed.
