Where to stay: London

 196 Bishopsgate

Price

196 Bishopsgate is an apartment hotel, so the price depends on whether you have a studio apartment, a one bedroom, a two bedroom or the penthouse. There were no studio apartments available for the dates I wanted so I booked a one bedroom apartment. The price was reasonable for a central London location, cheaper than a high end hotel.

Location

I chose the hotel for its location, it's opposite the Liverpool Street station, so very convenient for the Stansted Express and different Tube Lines, including the new Elizabeth Line. It's next to a Pret, there is a Tesco Express 2 minutes walk away and it's opposite an Eataly, which I highly recommend if you like Italian food. A 5 minute walk away was the Spitalfield Market.

Facilities

Stayed in a one bedroom apartment, it was airconditioned, London can get hot during the summer!

Entering the apartment, there was a small hallway leading to the living area.

The lounge area which included a desk if you wanted to do some work.

The kitchen area, well equiped for those wanting to self cater. Cleaning products were supplied, there was even a small dishwasher.

Looking from the living area into the bedroom.

The bed was rather saggy and soft, trying to sit on the edge caused you to fall into the centre!

Nice sized wardrobe with full length mirrors, the bedroom had an air conditioner which was needed as the room got the full force of the afternoon sun.

A good sized bathroom, the hairdryer was in the bedroom.

A stand alone shower, but the shower head wasn't great spraying out a few jets of water.

The laundry was great with the washer dryer and the laundry detergent was supplied.

Optional Extras

The hotel did have an elevator, and the front desk had staff working 24/7.

Recommendation

I would stay there again as the location was terrific, an apartment hotel is perfect if you're staying more than 3 days, it was great to be able to wash clothes and make your own food.
