Where to Stay: The George Penang

The George looks like a repurposed colonial era building but it's actually a completely new build, just in the style of a colonial building.

Price

A relatively new hotel in a good location the price was very reasonable. Malaysia is cheaper than its near neighbour Singapore, so your travel dollar goes a lot further. Breakfast came with the price of the room.

Location

The George is on the edge of the UNESCO heritage listed part of George Town. The main historic buildings are an easy 10 minute walk away, the airport is a 20 to 30 minute car ride away, depending on traffic.

Facilities

The room comes with robes, a safe and a fridge.

The toilet is a Japanese bidet one.

Toilet and shower

There is a small pool area with change rooms. 

The hotel has a restaurant that is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There is also a bar that serves alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks.

Optional Extras

There is a small gym.

Recommendation

Would I stay here again? Yes, it was an enjoyable stay, nice modern hotel, good facilities, the breakfasts had plenty of options, a good location to the historic part of George Town.
