Royal Tiaras

My collection so far (that I've seen, not own!) The Scroll tiara, worn by Kate Middleton on her wedding day. I kept getting tiara youtube videos recommended to me and then realised I've seen quite a few of the recommendations in real life. So as I like putting together collections, here are the ones I've seen. Cartier Exhibition, National Gallery of Australia The National Gallery of Australia held a Cartier exhibition in 2018. I travelled to Canberra and was able to see this exhibition, on display were some tiaras as well as other jewels and Cartier objects. What made this exhibition special was that the items on display were not just those owned by Cartier but also loaned to Cartier for the exhibition, including jewels owned by Queen Elizabeth II. Once such item was the Scroll tiara, ( the Halo Cartier tiara) which the Queen loaned to Kate Middleton on her wedding day. Where to stay: Pullman G Bangkok

Nice hotel in a good location Price Mid range price and good value for money Location Very good location, just off the freeway from the airport so it removes much of the moving through crowded Bangkok traffic. A five minute walk from the Skytrain (BST) station of Chong nonsi, which makes it easy to travel around Bangkok. Can also walk down to the river in about 20 minutes to the Sathorn Pier to travel along the river. Plenty of restaurants and street food vendors in the area. Facilities Good sized rooms The hotel has a lounge bar area for quick bites, an attached restaurant which is a burger, wine and liquor bar, upstairs is a restaurant that in the morning serves breakfast and then is an Italian restaurant called 'Thaittoria'. St Barnabas' Chapel, Norfolk Island

A Little Jem to discover in the Pacific St Barnabas Chapel I love visiting Norfolk Island, its quaintness really appealed to me. And I really loved discovering this gem of a church and learning its history. My first full day on the island we were taken on a half day tour of some of the sights, a stop at this church was included in the tour. What made it even more personal was that our tour guide had been married in the church and her mother had as well. The first Anglican bishop of New Zealand established the Melanesian mission on Norfolk Island in 1867, a college and church were built as a training facility for missionaries who would then go and work in the Melanesian Islands. Over the years hundreds of students came from the various islands to train at the college and then returned back to their communities. The Melanesian Mission remained on Norfolk Island until 1920, when it moved to the Solomon Islands. They left behind their beautiful church. The altar and histori...

Abigwideworld: There's a big wide world out there and I want to see as much of it as possible, is a sentence that I have used over the years to explain why I love to travel so much. I'm fortunate that I've been able to see quite a bit of the world, but there's a lot more to see! This blog is a great way for me to record my travels.
